Julietta Hua

Julietta Hua is a professor of Women and Gender Studies, where she teaches courses on migration, law, and labor.

With her colleague, Kasturi Ray, she is the author of Spent Behind the Wheel: Drivers' Labor in the Uber Economy (Minnesota 2021). The book considers passenger driving as a form of gendered domestic and household labor and examines the role of technology companies in continuing extractive and colonial practices of racial capitalism. 

In addition to her work with Dr. Ray, she is also working on issues of housing insecurity and gender violence.
